Detta är en kvalitativ och delvis kvantitativ studie med syftet att analysera konsumistiska tendenser i den amerikanska realityserien The Hills utifrån Zygmunt Baumans teorier om konsumtion och konsumism. Frågeställningen lyder: manifesteras en konsumistisk livsstil i The Hills och i så fall hur? Av de drygt 100 avsnitt som finns av The Hills valde vi 18 stycken, tre avsnitt per säsong, att analysera. Analysmetoden inspireras av bland annat Susanna Hornig Priests bok Doing media research: an introduction om kvalitativ innehållsanalys och vi har sedan använt oss av delar från de olika teoriavsnitten. I vår kvantitativa analys har vi använt oss av en tabell som visar hur många minuter och sekunder per avsnitt som spenderas i en viss miljö. I slutdiskussionen diskuterar vi fritt kring The Hills och hur konsumtion och konsumism yttrar sig i serien.

Denna uppsats syftar till att kvalitativt undersöka hur kvinnor porträtteras i femutvalda avsnitt av The Hills (MTV), med fokus på deras beteende och uppträdande ifrågor som karriär, utseende och relationer till män. Detta undersöks med hjälp av ettanalysschema som har utformats utifrån Keith Selbys och Ron Cowderysanalysmodell för att studera television. Undersökningen vilar på en genusteoretisk grund och teorier som används är blandannat R.W. Connells hegemoniska maskulinitet, Yvonne Hirdmans genuskontrakt,Laura Mulveys ?the male gaze? och en vidare utveckling av Foucaults teori om ?thepanopticon?. Detta kompletteras med forskning av bland annat Rosalind Gill, AngelaMcRobbie och Hillevi Ganetz. I min analys framkommer att det förekommer väldigt få skildringar av kvinnor varsbeteende utmanar en traditionell syn på kvinnligt uppförande.

This is a hermeneutic study that analyzes and discusses whether it is possible to find Christian ethics in the TV-series Beverly Hills 90210 (1990) and the spin-off 90210 (2008) and how they differ in the preparation of these. I also aim to, based on my research, illustrate the discussion of Christian ethics in the curriculum and why we need a multicultural education.I have chosen three episode of both TV-series and I divided each episode into different themes, each theme is a phenomenon that I perceive to be a part of a Christian ethical position. Then I argue, using the theologian Stanley Hauerwas, these themes really can relate to what may be perceived as Christian ethics. In order to discuss how Christian ethics and secular ideals are connected I find the theory of secularization usefull. The results I came upwith is that I find a theme in each episode which I percieve to be a part of a Christian ethical position.

24 years have passed since the Chernobyl accident when radionuclides were spread over largeareas of Europe, including the Scandinavian countries. Today, measurable activities of 137Csare still observed in many Swedish ecosystems.Ants (belonging to the order Hymenoptera) are social insects which collect organic materialfrom a large area around their nests. This study focuses on the 137Cs activity in ant nests andthe cesium accumulation in these nests. The aims were (1) to estimate the 137Cs fall-out in1986, (2) estimate the radiation exposure of ants and (3) find how 137Cs is distributed in an anthill. Seven ant hills (occupied by the species Formica polyctena) were studied near the villageof Hille, situated north of the city of Gävle in central Sweden.

Denna studie undersöker hur känslor uttrycks på Twitter i relation till reality-serien The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. För att kunna göra detta har en metod valts som fungerar bra på att undersöka kulturer på internet, Netnografi. 125 tweets har tematiserats efter känslor och operationaliserats med hjälp av det värdeobjekt som känslorna kretsar kring. Tweeten delades först in som positiva, med kärlek och glädje som känslor. De negativa delades in i äckel, avundsjuka, irritation, ilska och hat.

Taking a qualitative approach, this research investigates different theories and methods for creating parks that people will cherish and visit during their daily life. It also takes on the task to understand how principles of developing recreational values in a small forest is affected by the addition of a new element to the landscape, i.e. a major highway. Data was collected through the combination of focused literature review and study trips. This provided a framework which in turn was applied to the subject of the study, i.e.

Undersökningar med uppfödare, utställningsintresserade och djuraffärskonsumenter, där det är djuraffärskonsumenter som är mest intressanta har genomförts. En tydlig slutsatts man kan dra är att dessa konsumenter inte tycker att det är någon större skillnad mellan Hills, Royal Canin och Eukanuba. De tycker dock att det de själva använder är bäst, med anledning till att det fungerar bra på hunden. Konsumenter väljer hundmat genom rekommendationer och genom att prova sig fram. En bra strategi för producenterna för dessa foder är att utbilda djuraffärspersonalen för att få de att rekommendera ett visst foder samt att tillhandahålla butikerna med gratis provpåsar som bör vara ca 3kg..

This paper deals with hill-forts located on and directly south of Selaön, in the center of Mälardalen, Södermanland, dated to the late roman period and the migration period. Of special interest is differences and similarities between the forts when it comes to their morphology and The Hills where they were built. Furthermore, their landscape has been examined and I have tried to put the hill-forts in relation to any iron age settlements..

The purpose of this study was to interview different groups of people (preschool teatcher, parents and theire childen) involved in preschool about their view on outdoor activity and children´s motoric development, and how a preschool yard should be designed to promote childrens development.All parties regard outdoor activity as very important for the development of children. They also think that the outdoor environment today is good but that it could be improved by including some trees and hills. The yard should also contain soil, sand, clay and water. The children prefer grass on the ground over other substrates. This study also gives good indications to decision makers how to build new or to reconstruct pre-school yards in the future..

With an electricbike you avoid having to sweat when biking over hills or when you need totravel over longer distances.The goal of this project is to develop a bike sharing station according tothe functions need to be met.This thesis Is based on Fredy Olsson´s methods principkonstruktion aswell as a couple of concept generating methods from Kenneth Österlin.From this, a number of sketches were made that later was evaluated inseveral steps in conjunction to a set of specifications. Syftet med denna studie var att inom den positiva psykologins ramar se hur optimism (LOT-r, Scheier, Carver, & Bridges, 1994) förhåller sig till lyckonivå (OHQ, Hills & Argyle 2002) och livstillfredsställelse (SWLS, Diener, Emmons, Larsen & Griffin, 1985) och om detta skiljer sig i kön, civilstånd och ålder. Studien undersökte också vad som gör individer lyckliga. Urvalet var av snöbollsmetoden och 106 respondenter deltog där 47 var män och 59 var kvinnor. Civilstånd delades upp i tre kategorier, gifta/sambo, särbo och ensamstående. Ålder delades upp i tre kategorier, 18-29, 30-49 och 50-74.

The relationship between fandoms and religion has become an increasingly popular topic to study within the field of the sociology of religion. In previous studies, there have been different views concerning whether or not fandoms should be regarded as religious from a functional perspective. This issue is especially interesting considering the decreasing popularity of traditional religion in some aspects. The aim of this essay is to study how Harry Potter fandoms are described in previous studies. The study aims at discerning both the empirical data and how the data is interpreted. The material in this study consists of three previous studies about the communities centered around Harry Potter fandoms.
